It is with great pleasure that I introduce this issue of the MEXTESOL Journal. In this issue we have five articles (four refereed and one non-refereed) for our MEXTESOL Journal readers throughout the world. These articles come from Mexico, Iran, and the United States.

The first refereed article, “The impact of context on learning idioms in EFL classes”, discusses a research project carried out by Fatemeh Mohamadi Asl (Allameh Tabataba’i University) concerning how the use of a context affects the learning of idiomatic expressions and the learners’ retention of these expressions.
